Mr. WEST RUSSELLasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he has received any representations from the librarian of Newcastle Public Library and other librarians throughout the country with regard to the proposed publication by subscription of a new edition of the printed catalogue of the library of the British Museum; whether it is the intention of the Government to give such financial assistance as may be necessary in order that free copies of the catalogue may be placed in certain municipal libraries serving large centres of population?
