§ Mr. DAYasked the Minister of Health whether his Department are taking any steps to increase the supply of radium available for use in the hospitals of Great Britain; and can he give particulars?
§ Mr. GREENWOODI would remind my hon. Friend that the position with respect to the use of public funds in aid of the purchase of radium to be supplied on loan to hospitals is that no part of the moneys voted by Parliament for this purpose, which were limited to £100,000, has been placed at my disposal. The whole of this contribution of £100,000 from public funds forms part of the money held by the Radium Trust, who, as my hon. Friend will be aware, are not appointed by me but are constituted by Royal Charter.
