§ Sir C TREVELYANUp to the present I have received 177 programmes from local education authorities, 21 of which contain proposals for new nursery schools. The hon. Member will realise that many local education authorities had prepared their programmes before the receipt of the joint circular issued by the Minister of Health and myself, and where the programmes of urban authorities do not deal with the question of nursery schools I am taking the matter up with them.
