§ Mr. TURNERInformation as to persons employed in mines, classified according to age groups, is only collected annually. The latest information avail-able in regard to boys and youths under 2083W 18 years of age relates to 15th December, 1928, when the number employed underground was 66,483. Information concerning shifts worked is not classified according to age groups, and it is therefore not possible to give the number of shifts; worked by these persons.
