§ Mr. LEES-SMITHThe approximate number of letters (including packets) and parcels handled in England and Wales from 23rd to 28th December, 1929, are estimated at over 200,000,000 and over 7,000,000 respectively. More than 70 per cent. of the letters and 80 per cent. of the parcels were dealt with up to and including Christmas Day.
