§ Mr. MANDERasked the President of the Board of Trade the present position of the negotiations with the Australian Government with regard to the recently imposed prohibitive duty on steel traps?
§ Mr. W. GRAHAMI have received a considerable number of complaints of hardship arising out of the recent increases in the Australian tariff. As I explained in answer to a question by the hon. Member for Pudsey and Otley (Mr. Gibson) on 17th December last, general representations on the subject have already been made to the Commonwealth Government, and, in addition, a more detailed memorandum has now been prepared and forwarded to that Government for their consideration.
