§ Mr. FREEMANasked the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the recent statement of the Maharajah of Patiala, speaking officially on behalf of the Indian princes, in reference to the independence of India; and whether the Indian princes are being invited to the proposed round-table conference in the autumn to consider the question of dominion status?
§ Mr. BENNI have seen a Press report of the statement referred to. It is of course proposed to invite to the conference representatives of the Indian States.
