WOODasked the Minister of Health whether he has, in connection with the draft scheme for Woolwich under Section 101 (6) of the Local Government Act, 1929, providing for maternity and child welfare service", received the observations and objections of the Woolwich Borough Council asking him not to approve such scheme: whether it is his intention to proceed with such scheme; what action he has taken in regard thereto; and whether he proposes to ensure the performance of the statutory duties of the borough council in connection therewith?
§ Mr. GREENWOODI assume that the right hon. Member is referring to the scheme which has to be made by me under Section 101 (6) of the Act as respects the County of London. I have received the observations of the Woolwich and other borough councils on the proposed scheme, and these observations are now under consideration. The answer to the last part of the question is in the affirmative.
