§ Sir C. TREVELYANA copy of the "Cost per Child" tables, which were sent to the hon. Member on 28th December, has been sent in the usual way to every local authority. It is the regular practice of my Department to discuss with individual authorities items of expenditure which appear to be excessive, and I think this practice is more likely to be effective than the issue of any general Circular.
