asked the Minister of Agriculture the quantity and value of fish landed each month during 1929 at the Fish Quay and the Albert Edward Quay, North Shields respectively, distinguishing between the landings from foreign vessels and British vessels?

The quantity and value of wet fish landed at the Fish Quay, North Shields, during each month of the year 1929, were as follow:

The above figures do not include shell fish, the value of which averages about £350 per month. Apart from a quantity of 113 cwts., valued at £27, landed in July, no wet fish was landed from foreign fishing vessels during 1929 at the Fish Quay. No fish is landed by fishing vessels, British or foreign, at the Albert Edward Quay, North Shields. Particulars with regard to imported fish landed at this Quay from foreign merchant vessels are not readily available, but they can be obtained if the hon. Member so desires.
