HC Deb 04 February 1930 vol 234 cc1710-1W
Mr. D. GRAHAM

asked the Minister of Transport the number of schemes that have been submitted to, and approved by, his Department in England, Scotland and Wales, from his accession to office to the nearest date, with the estimated cost of each scheme and the amount of grant to be given to each scheme?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

There are upwards of 2,200 highway authorities in England, Scotland and Wales. It would not be possible, without a great expenditure of time and labour and interruption of work, to give the information asked for in my hon. Friend's question and I hope that he will not press for a detailed answer.
