HC Deb 04 February 1930 vol 234 c1699W
Mr. MALONE

asked the Postmaster-General if he will indicate the policy of His Majesty's Government in regard to the future control and operation of wireless telephony?

Viscount WOLMER

asked the Postmaster-General whether he received last August an offer from the Imperial and International Communications, Limited, to provide an Empire telephone service forthwith; whether he has yet sent any reply to that letter; and, if so, to what effect?

Mr. GILL

asked the Postmaster-General if consideration is being given to the proposal of the Imperial and International Communications, Limited, to instal direct telephonic communication with Canada, South Africa, Australia, India, Egypt, Argentine, Brazil, Siam, and other countries; whether the Post Office has alternative plans for such development under its own control, and whether he is now able to make a statement on the matter?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

I beg to refer to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister yesterday on this matter.
