HC Deb 04 February 1930 vol 234 c1689W
Mr. FREEMAN

asked the Secretary of State for War the number of military forts on the British Isles; how many of these are now obsolete or redundant; and if, and when, he is considering their abolition?

Mr. SHAW

It is not in the public interest to publish detailed statistics regarding defensive arrangements, but-certain forts that are obsolete and no longer required for the accommodation of personnel or stores are being disposed of.
