HC Deb 04 February 1930 vol 234 cc1694-5W
Mr. BOOTHBY

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps His Majesty's Government are taking to meet the crisis which has arisen in Scottish agriculture; and whether he will take steps, in consultation with the leaders of the industry, to facilitate the institution of a potato pool, to control the marketing of the potato crop, and to secure an adequate price for the producer?

Mr. W. ADAMSON

As regards the first part of the question I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Northern Midlothian (Major Colville) on 21st January, and as regards the second part I am considering proposals for the improved marketing of the potato crop and other staple crops.
