HC Deb 02 December 1930 vol 245 c1999W
Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many exchanges of teachers in Scottish primary and secondary schools, respectively, have been carried out to date with teachers in schools in the Dominions; and how many of the teachers so exchanged have been men and how many women?

Mr. W. ADAMSON

I understand that since the year 1922, 120 Scottish teachers have carried out exchanges with teachers in the Dominions under arrangements made by the League of the Empire. Of these, 106 were employed in primary schools and 14 in secondary schools. Four were men and 116 were women.
