§ Mr. COMPTONThe Kitchen Committee always endeavour so use only English grown potatoes. At present we 2753W are using 2,016 lbs. of English old potatoes per week against 54 lbs. of new imported. If hon. Members insist on having new potatoes and no English are available, we endeavour to meet their demands with the imported variety, but I give definite promise that the use of same will be discontinued directly English new potatoes are procurable.
