HC Deb 14 April 1930 vol 237 c2645W
Major POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have come to any decision in regard to a provisional arrangement for guaranteeing Indian medical degrees pending the introduction of legislation in the Indian Legislative Assembly to establish an all-India medical council?

Mr. BENN

The Government of India made proposals having the object indicated in the question, but these proved unacceptable to the General Medical Council. They have made no further proposals since the decision of the General Medical Council to discontinue recognition was announced.
