§ Mr. MONTAGUEIn answer to the first part of the question, the flying training schools are those at Netheravon, Digby, Grantham, Sealand and Abu Sueir (Egypt). As regards the second part, persons of civilian status are not trained at those schools, but if the hon. Member refers to short service officers the numbers who qualified according to Royal Air Force standards in 1929 were 16, 35, 29, 54 and 35, respectively. As regards the last part, the standard to which pupils are trained at these schools is, as I explained in my reply of 2nd April, a much higher one than that required for the A licence, and any figures which I might give in answer to this part of the question would be hypothetical and of small value.
