§ Mr. MANDERasked the Minister of Transport, whether he will consider the advisability of introducing legislation for recruiting a regular service of business administration for boards of docks, harbours, and similar public bodies with a cadre and pension scheme, allowing scope for rapid promotion and satisfactory prizes?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to a question which he asked last Tuesday which raised a somewhat similar point. Harbour Authorities, like other business organisations are at present responsible for appointing their own staff and determining their organisation and conditions of service, and I do not at present contemplate the introduction of legislation with regard to this matter.
