asked the Minister of Health whether he will give particulars of the slum clearance schemes completed under the Housing Act, 1923, showing in each case the number of houses pulled down, the number of houses built, and the annual loss of the scheme per house built?

The following statement shows the desired particulars, so far as they are available, in respect of each completed slum clearance scheme

* In addition 49 tenements have been provided by conversion of existing buildings and the balance of re-housing accommodation required has been provided by arrangement with the London County Council on the County Council's Downham Estate.
Figures of average annual loss on slum clearance schemes assisted under this Act have not in any case been fixed but final accounts showing the capital cost of ten of the completed schemes have been received, and in these cases rough estimates have been made of the probable average annual loss on the basis of present rents and estimated selling prices of the cleared sites.
