§ Mr. SHAWA reply has been sent to the men's representatives informing them that, as the result of an actuarial examination of the scheme, it has unfortunately been found that the cost to public funds resulting from the scheme would be prohibitive. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative. But as stated by my hon. Friend the Financial Secretary in the Debate on Army Estimates, the scheme will be considered again in the light of the criticisms which have been made on it.
