HC Deb 31 October 1929 vol 231 c350W
Sir F. HALL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in connection with the proposals of the Government for the extension in certain directions of the present arrangements for the grant of national pensions, he will consider as to the appointment of a Committee of the House to advise as to the persons who should be included in any revised pension scheme, with a view to ensuring that equal treatment in respect to the grant of pension on the ground of age, necessity, and so on shall be applied to all classes of the community?

Mr. SNOWDEN

I do not think that a Committee of the House would be an appropriate body to advise on a matter of this kind.
