HC Deb 14 November 1929 vol 231 c2247W
Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many primary schools there are which are recognised as advanced divisions but which provide no special staff and equipment for practical instruction?

Mr. ADAMSON

The answer to the queston is 253 if drawing and needlework are not regarded as practical subjects. These are small schools containing in their advanced divisions only about 750 pupils, i.e., about 1 per cent. of the advanced division pupils in Scotland.
