HC Deb 14 November 1929 vol 231 c2268W
Colonel CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Minister of Health if he proposes to take any steps to readmit into voluntary pension insurance those members of the London and North Eastern Railway Company's staff who, though admitted in 1925, were subsequently not allowed to remain in insurance?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The persons referred to cannot properly be admitted to voluntary insurance under the present law, and in so far as they are not covered by Clause 19 of the Contributory Pensions Bill their position depends on the possibility of a general extension of voluntary insurance, which is a matter to be considered in the course of the survey of social insurance now in progress.
