HC Deb 13 November 1929 vol 231 c2066W
Mr. WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any representations have been made to the Government pointing out that the policy of maintaining Arab rights and customs has not been made clear to the Arab peoples of Palestine; and whether he intends to take any steps in the matter?

Mr. LUNN

Representations of every kind have been received. His Majesty's Government have made it clear that they stand by the terms of the Balfour declaration, which provide that nothing should be done which might prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine.
