§ Mr. MILLARasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now able to announce any proposals for the dredging of the Scottish fishery harbours?
Mr. ADAMSONI have been impressed by the need for dredging which exists at many of the harbours. The Government propose to make further provision for dredging services by the acquisition of an additional dredger to be operated by the Fishery Board for Scotland, and I am taking steps to have the dredger provided as soon as possible.
§ Mr. SKELTONasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the inadequate protection against the incursions of trawlers inside the three-mile limit in Hebridean and West High land waters given by the fishery cruiser "Minna" and the motor patrol boat "Rona," he will make arrangements for the number of vessels on patrol duty there being materially increased?
Mr. ADAMSONThis is a matter which has already been brought to my notice, and I have the whole question of the proper protection of fishing interests in Scotland under consideration. I am not, however, in a position to make any statement on the steps that I may ultimately find are necessary.
