§ Mr. DAYasked the Minister of Transport whether he is now in a position to make a statement as to the provision of the necessary rehousing accommodation for persons of the working classes who will be displaced on the south side of the Thames by the construction of the new station and railway works which will take the place of the present Charing Cross station; and has an estimate been prepared by any of the Government departments of the number of persons who will have to be rehoused?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI under stand that where a Private Bill such as this contains power to take compulsorily land involving houses occupied wholly or partially by 30 or more persons of the working classes the promoters must deposit in the Committee and Private Bill Office, on or before the 21st day of December, a statement giving the description and postal address of each such house and the number of persons of the working class residing in it. In accordance with this Standing Order the London County Council, who are the promoters in this case, are obtaining particulars of the number of such persons, and a statement will be deposited in due course.
