HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 cc1273-4W
Sir B. PETO

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what steps the Government propose to take to bring to the notice of the public the rights given to policy holders under the Industrial Assurance and Friendly Societies Act, in view of the fact that benefits under the Act must be claimed before 9th May, 1930?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

I would draw the hon. Baronet's attention to Section 3 (5) of the Act, which provides, under penalty, for the delivery of a notice in approved form at least once within three months after the commencement of the Act at every house or other place where premiums are collected. It does not appear to be necessary to give any further notice to the public.
