HC Deb 07 November 1929 vol 231 c1300W
Mr. SCOTT

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether and when he will introduce legislation to give effect to the recommendations of the Deer Forests Commission and the Committee on Game and Heather-burning?

Mr. ADAMSON

As the hon. Member is no doubt aware, one of the principal recommendations of the Game and Heather-burning Committee has been dealt with by the Heather-burning (Scot land) Act, 1926, and effect has been given to a recommendation of the Deer Forests, Committee by a provision in the Agricultural Returns Act, 1925, empowering the Department of Agriculture for Scotland to obtain annual returns of sheep and cattle grazing in deer forests. Other recommendations of both Committees are receiving consideration, but I am not at present in a position to make any statement with regard to further legislation.
