asked the Secretary of State for India whether he will state the number of persons in this country drawing pensions from each of the gazetted Indian services in the last year for which figures are available; and the cost of these pensions to the Indian revenues?

The number of pensions issued in this country to retired members of the Indian services (civil) during the year ended 31st March, 1929, and the amounts paid during the year in respect of those pensions, were as follow:
