§ Colonel ENGLANDasked the Minister of Labour whether it is still the practice of the Employment Exchanges to give preferential opportunities for employment to ex-service men; and whether men who volunteeered to join the Army in 1914–15 but who were found unfit for active service and transferred to the Army Reserve forthwith are considered as ex-service men in this connection or given any kind of preferential treatment to those men who did not so volunteer?
§ Mr. LAWSONAs between applicants of equal suitability, the Exchanges are instructed to give preference to ex-service men. Men who did not render actual service in His Majesty's Forces between 4th August, 1914, and 11th November, 1918, are not regarded as ex-service men for this purpose.
