SINCLAIRasked the Postmaster-General if he is yet in a position to state which railway stations in Caithness and Sutherland are to be equipped with telephones in accordance with the proposals in the last Budget; what proportion of the post offices in Caithness and Sutherland, respectively, which have no telephone facilities at present, will be equipped with call-boxes in accord- 1077W ance with the Budget proposals; and if he will give the names of the post offices which are to be so equipped?
§ Mr. LEES-SMITHArrangements have been made for a public telephone call office to be installed at Georgemas Railway Station. Negotiations are proceeding with the railway companies, but I am not at present in a position to say what further railway stations in Caithness and Sutherland will be equipped with these facilities.
Call offices are being, or have been, installed under the recent scheme in the following eight post offices:
