HC Deb 05 November 1929 vol 231 c865W
Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Transport whether he can give the number of licences for mechanically-propelled vehicles current on the last convenient date, and full particulars of accidents occurring during the first six months of the present year?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The approximate number of licences in respect of mechanically-propelled vehicles current on 31st August last was 2,163,000. I am informed that the latest statistics of road accidents are those for the year ending 31st December, 1928, which were presented to the House by the late Home Secretary on 27th March, 1929, in House of Commons Paper Number 83 of last Session.
