§ Mr. BOOTHBYasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that application has been made by the inhabitants of St. Combs for a grant towards the construction of a harbour; that this application has been rejected by the Fishery Board for Scotland; and whether, in view of the necessity of a harbour for the welfare of the community at St. Combs, he will reconsider this decision?
Mr. ADAMSONI am aware of the position. The Fishery Board for Scotland were of opinion that the proposals formerly submitted were not satisfactory, and in view of the high cost of providing a harbour which would meet the requirements they were unable to support the scheme. If any fresh proposals are submitted they will of course receive due consideration.
