§ Mr. W. THORNEasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he can state the total value of reparations received from Germany, showing separately the amount in manufactured goods, up to the end of the last financial year or nearest date?
Mr. SAMUEL:The total receipts of the United Kingdom to 30th April, 1929, in respect of German Reparation (including Belgian War Debt) amount to £68,000,000. In addition £59,000,000 has been received in respect of Army Costs. Apart from lorries and abandoned war material (£1,500,000) surrendered at the Armistice and shipping (£11,500,000) no manufactured goods have been received.
