Mr. GARDNER

asked the Undersecretary of State for India the composition of the Committee appointed by the Government of the Presidency in accordance with the request of the provincial legislature to investigate the causes of the disturbances in Bombay City in February last?

The Committee is composed as follows:

  • Mr. P. E. Percival, C.I.E., Judicial Commissioner in Sind (Chairman),
  • Mirza Ali Muhamed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Bombay University,
  • Mr. Krishnalal Mohanlal Jhaveri, retired Chief Judge of the Small Cause Court,
  • with Mr. E. W. Trotman, I.C.S., as Secretary.
