HOLBROOKasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the damage caused by traffic vibration to buildings and underground services, any technical tests have been undertaken to ascertain whether rubber roads, such as are now under demonstration in London, as compared with other methods of road construction, have a beneficial effect; and, if not, whether these tests will be made?
§ Colonel ASHLEYI am watching with interest the trials of rubber paving in streets, which are now being made, and, while I will bear in mind my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion, I cannot at present undertake to carry out special tests of this particular surfacing in preference to other experimental work.
