HC Deb 21 March 1929 vol 226 c1873W
Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress, if any, is being made on the construction of the road in connection with the township of Lower Breakish, Skye; and whether he can give any date when it will be completed?

Sir J. GILMOUR

As I informed the hon. Member on 29th January, the Skye District Committee has accepted the offer of a grant from the Department of Agriculture for Scotland in aid of the construction of the road. As the line of the road will pass through land in the occupation of crofters, the approval of the Scottish Land Court to the resumption of the necessary ground is required before the district committee can put the work in hand. I understand that the application to the Land Court will be made on an early date.
