§ Sir V. HENDERSONThe site for the statuary group in question, as well as the height and design of the base, were fixed after prolonged consideration, in full accordance with the views of M. Rodin himself, who visited this country for the purpose. My Noble Friend, therefore, does not see his way to adopt the suggestion made, which, apart from other considerations, would involve sub-stantial expenditure from public funds.
