(2) the number of disabled officers and dependants of deceased officers who were 235W in receipt of pensions at the last convenient date, stating the gross amount paid to these persons during the previous 12 months?
Lieut.-Colonel STANLEYThe total number of disabled men, together with the widows and other dependants of deceased men of non-commissioned rank, who are in receipt of pensions, is approximately 935,000. The total number of disabled officers, together with the widows and dependants of deceased officers in receipt of pension, is approximately 40,000 and the total amount payable for this class of pensioner in pensions, grants and allowances for the current financial year, which is included in the Vote for the Ministry, is £5,343,300.
