§ Sir J. GILMOURThe total amount of local rates collected by the collector of rates in Glasgow was, in 1928–29, £7,460,562. The total amount of occupiers' rates collectable by owners was £1,062,582. The total cost of collection to the City in each case was £53,861 and £26,499 respectively.
