HC Deb 04 March 1929 vol 226 c34W
Mr. DUCKWORTH

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, if the British Government have received any report indicating that Chinese troops are being moved from Dairen to Lungkow to take part in the operations against the Nationalist Government of China; and whether, in view of the large British interests in Shantung, he can state what steps, if any, are being taken to protect these interests?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

Sir M. Lampson reports that Chang Tsungchang has landed at Lungkow and has some 15,000 men under him. There are two British warships in the area affected by this development, as well as an American cruiser and several Japanese warships.
