HC Deb 04 March 1929 vol 226 cc35-6W
Sir R. GOWER

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether, with a view to promoting the sale and use throughout the British Empire of British made or produced goods, he will consider the desirability of approaching each of the Dominion Governments with a view to the formulation by them, respectively, of some scheme similar to that of the Empire Marketing Board in this country, or otherwise?

volume of industrial production in 1928 compared with that in 1924?

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

I would refer my hon. Friend to the special article on the subject which appeared in the Board of Trade Journal on 21st February, a copy of which I am sending him. The volume of industrial production in 1928 in this country is there estimated as having been rather over 5 per cent. greater than in 1924.
