§ Mr. WELLSasked the Minister of Health the reasons that prevent him from at once carrying out his expressed intention of introducing legislation to amend the provisions of Section 46 of the Housing Act, 1925, relating to the compensation payable by local authorities to owners of property compulsorily acquired in connection with insanitary area schemes?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINIt is impossible for the Government to introduce legislation on this subject in the lifetime of the present Parliament owing to the magnitude of their proposals in other directions and the limited amount of Parliamentary time available. My hon Friend will realise also that I have been fully occupied with the Local Government Bill.
