§ Mr. N. BUXTONThe net imports of unrefined sugar during the period 1st May, 1928, to 31st March, 1929, amounted to 34,063,000 cwts., an increase of 10,326,500 cwts. on the net imports of the corresponding period of 1927–28. I am advised that the quantity of imported unrefined sugar used in the home-grown beet sugar factories during the year ended 31st March, 1929, amounted to 2,359,500 cwts.
