§ Major COLVILLEasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that the tax on imported petrol, in addition to raising revenue for de-rating productive industries, is having a beneficial effect on the oil industry in this country and is stimulating the growth of byproduct recovery plants; and if he will make an early statement regarding the continuance of this duty in order that this development may not be arrested through uncertainty regarding the Government's future policy?
