§ Major POLEasked the Secretary of State for India if he will give figures for each of the last three years showing the number of cases of prosecution for employing children under 13 years of age in the mines of British India contrary to the Indian Mines Act?
§ Mr. BENNIn 1925 and 1926 there were no cases. In 3927 there was one case, in which the mineowner concerned was ordered to pay a fine of Rs.30 or in default to undergo one week's imprisonment. No later figures are available at present, but I hope that particulars for 1928 will soon be received from India.
