Mr. REGINALD YOUNGasked the Minister of Labour if she can give the House any information as to the approximate number of wage-earners who are denied annual holidays with pay?
§ Miss BONDFIELDAbout 1,500,000 wage-earners are covered by collective agreements between organisations of employers and workpeople known to contain provision for holidays with pay, but I have no information as to the numbers of other wage-earners who, in fact, receive pay during holidays. A list of industries in which there are collective agreements of this nature was published in the Ministry of Labour Gazette for March, 1925. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of the Gazette referred to, with notes bringing the information up-to-date.
