§ Miss LAWRENCEMy right hon. Friend cannot agree that the position is as suggested in the question. The previous contributions are required, not only to support the risks to which the funds were liable when the worker was in employment, but also to provide him with benefits during the free period of insurance conferred by the Acts. In addition, they normally entitle him to continue in insurance as a voluntary contributor if he so desires.
