Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe total number of persons in receipt of Poor Law relief in England and Wales, excluding lunatics in asylums, persons in receipt of domiciliary medical relief only, and casuals, on Saturday, 9th February, 1929, was 1,131,888. The number of persons in the excluded classes was approximately 127,000.
